چکیده
Various higher amine salts of dicarboxylic and tricarboxylic acids were prepared and tested for antimicrobial activity in vitro. Although activity was present in all compounds tested, tetradecylammonium malonate showed the greatest activity with the widest spectrum. This compound was effective against gram-negative as well as gram-positive microorganisms, yeast, and fungi.A high order of microbiological activity was demonstrated with various higher amine salts of dicarboxylic and tricarboxylic acids, e.g., tetradecylammonium oxalate, tetradecylammonium citrate, and so forth. Compounds tested exhibited a low order of toxicity.

Magnetic amine-functionalized graphene oxide as a novel and recyclable bifunctional nanocatalyst for solvent-free synthesis of pyrano[3,2-c]pyridine derivatives
The new magnetic amine-functionalized graphene oxide (Fe3O4-GO-NH2) nanocatalyst was prepared through the reaction of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) with magnetic graphene oxide (Fe3O4-GO). It was characterized by XRD, TEM, SEM, FT-IR and EDX techniques. The intrinsic carboxylic acids on the edges of Fe3O4-GO alo...
متن کاملOne-pot, four-component synthesis of fully substituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives from N-isocyaniminotriphenylphosphorane (Ph3PNNC), a primary amine, a carboxylic acid and cinnamaldehyde
The imine intermediate generated by the addition of primary amine to the cinnamaldehyde is trapped by the N-isocyaniminotriphenylphosphorane (Ph3PNNC) and a carboxylic acid, and leads to the formation of the corresponding iminophosphorane intermediate. The 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives are formed via intramolecular aza-Wittig reaction of the iminophosphorane intermediate. The reactions were comp...
متن کاملSynthesis of Tertiary and Quaternary Amine Derivatives from Wood Resin as Chiral NMR Solvating Agents.
Chiral tertiary and quaternary amine solvating agents for NMR spectroscopy were synthesized from the wood resin derivative (+)-dehydroabietylamine (2). The resolution of enantiomers of model compounds [Mosher's acid (3) and its n-Bu₄N salt (4)] (guests) by (+)-dehydroabietyl-N,N-dimethylmethanamine (5) and its ten different ammonium salts (hosts) was studied. The best results with 3 were obtain...
متن کاملEfficient Amide Bond Formation through a Rapid and Strong Activation of Carboxylic Acids in a Microflow Reactor**
The development of highly efficient amide bond forming methods which are devoid of side reactions, including epimerization, is important, and such a method is described herein and is based on the concept of rapid and strong activation of carboxylic acids. Various carboxylic acids are rapidly (0.5 s) converted into highly active species, derived from the inexpensive and less-toxic solid triphosg...
متن کاملQuinolones: Recent Structural and Clinical Developments
Quinolones are a very important family of antibacterial agents that are widely prescribed for the treatment of infections in humans. Since their discovery in the early 1960s, the quinolone group of antibacterials has generated considerable clinical and scientific interest. Two major groups of compounds have been developed from the basic molecule: quinolones and naphthyridones. The 4-pyridone-3-...
